Meditation is state of thoughtful awareness. It is not act – of doing. It is state of awareness. We are either is the state or we are not regardless of what we are doing in life. Man can be in meditation when doing his work while another may be very far from meditation while sitting in lotus posture on top of Himalya mountain.

Everyone has experienced a meditative state in moments of deep joy or when completely engrossed in an activity, when just for a moment the mind becomes so light and at ease. While we have such moments, we are unable to repeat them at will. With meditation you can train to yourself to reach this stage willingly.

Meditation is a practice in which an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or as an end in itself.
